Welcome to Durango Dogs

Good Dogs = Happy People

Certified Pet Dog Trainer, Juliet Whitfield has a passion for animals and their relationships with people. Learn to communicate with your dog and understand how dogs think.  We offer in home private dog training sessions & group classes at the Durango Recreation Center.

Durango Dogs training methods use positive reinforcement in place of old-fashioned coercion and use of force.  We want you to have a fun and positive relationship with your dog.  If you can guide your dog to do what you want without using physical force or intimidation, the dog will learn much faster and enjoy the process more. This helps build the trust between you and your dog and now you have a fun and positive relationship with your dog.  Be proud of your dog!

At Durango Dogs we strive to provide a myriad of options for you to learn with your dog appealing to learners of all abilities, all ages and all levels. Our goal is to improve the communication between the human and canine members of your family.  We like to have fun, incorporating games and exercises that help you train your dog to live with you. We encourage the entire family to attend dog training classes or private training sessions.  Our training methods are positive, simple to learn for the whole family.

At Durango Dogs all training methods are firmly rooted in learning theory, positive reinforcement dog training in particular.  We never use force or fear to train your dog.  With science based learning theory we use positive training to build the bond between you and your dog.  It’s humane and it’s fun!  Also studies show that it’s more effective than using punishment.

Learning can and should be fun!  Join the fun at Durango Dogs.
